Proficiency captures a character's competence in a domain.
There are six Proficiencies in the game:
- three Defenses (Toughness, Resolve, Perception)
- three Paths (Combat, Special, Skill)
Proficiency Ranks
Proficiencies have five ranks (represented by pips on the character sheet):

Proficiency Modifier
Consider wether proficiency modifiers should be its own file, placed here, or part of Modifiers.
The base bonus Modifier of a check, which is always added.
- If you have a proficiency rank, the Proficiency Bonus equals Character Level + Proficiency rank.
- If you have no proficiency rank, you are Untrained. The Proficiency Bonus is half your Character Level, rounded down.
