Checks have a Difficulty Value (DV), marked with a name and value. There are seven ranks of difficulty, with Standard (10) and Difficult (15) being most common:
- Trivial (0)
- Easy (5)
- Standard (10)
- Difficult (15)
- Daunting (20)
- Epic (25)
- Impossible (30)
Additional rulings:
- The difficulty cannot go past Trivial (0) or Impossible (30).
- Generally, Trivial and Impossible checks are not rolled unless the GW calls for it. Otherwise, Trivial checks always succeed, while Impossible checks always fail.
