Effect rolls determine damage dealt, health healed, and more.
Roll a determined number of dice, and choose a number of those dice equal to the potency of the roll (usually you pick the highest values). The final value is the sum of the chosen dice, together with any modifiers.
As a shorthand, we can write: (XdYpZ + W)
Xis the number of dice rolled,dYis the type of dice,pZis the potency,Wthe sum of modifiers.
Example Figure

Rolling 3d6p2:
- Rolling three d6 results in 5, 4, 1.
- 5 and 4 are selected.
- Added together, the result is 5+4 = 9.
Shorthand rules
The shorthand also follows these additional rules:
- If no modifier is specified, it is 0 by default.
- If no potency is specified, it is 1 by default.
- For a roll of
3d6, only a single die is chosen - Nothing else is added.
- For a roll of
- Effect rolls can use multiple dice types in the same roll:
(2d6, d8)p2Rolls two d6 and one d8, from which any two dice can be chosen.
